I read this yesterday, and was struck by the movement. Then last night I had such a strange, vivid and fiction-inspiring dream…and re-read your words in that light, thinking of where inspiration comes from and how it can propel, even in the dark. 🙂
Oh, wow. So funny. That seems a little scary, though. The brain is a pretty scary place at night (whether because of poetry or pepperoni pizza). Glad it worked out alright!
Jennifer–I’ve been reading responses to the prompt at dverse for Japanese Death Poetry, so when I read this, I thought this was in response to the prompt because it fits so well–death as dancing, twirling. You might want to go there and link this! http://dversepoets.wordpress.com Just wonderful!
Thanks for the suggestion, Victoria. I have been really unable to keep up this summer, so I have been missing everything! Thanks so much for stopping by and prodding.
So I see this was an accidental writing to the prompt…that makes it even better! I love what you wrote…so profound and mysterious, excellent. So glad you linked this for the prompt.

Wonderful. the expectation of that journey going forward. what a great movement in your poem…
Thank you. It stems from a memory of dancing with my grandmother when I was very little. Those moments leave such an imprint. Thanks again!
