8/21

hand twirls me
in the dark, propels
me to dance —
forever forward,
ever from nowhere

  1. I read this yesterday, and was struck by the movement. Then last night I had such a strange, vivid and fiction-inspiring dream…and re-read your words in that light, thinking of where inspiration comes from and how it can propel, even in the dark. 🙂

    • Oh, wow. So funny. That seems a little scary, though. The brain is a pretty scary place at night (whether because of poetry or pepperoni pizza). Glad it worked out alright!

    • Thanks for the suggestion, Victoria. I have been really unable to keep up this summer, so I have been missing everything! Thanks so much for stopping by and prodding.

  2. I love the dance movements of twirling and moving ever forward ~ A positive statement on life, as well as death ~

Thanks for linking up with D’verse ~

    • Thank you. It stems from a memory of dancing with my grandmother when I was very little. Those moments leave such an imprint. Thanks again!

  3. So I see this was an accidental writing to the prompt…that makes it even better! I love what you wrote…so profound and mysterious, excellent. So glad you linked this for the prompt.

    Gayle ~
