When it snows
you notice the trees that have fallen
all year round.
Leaning on others,
they come into view, heavily arched,
tipped or broken
with just a slide
of white drawn along their edge separating them
from the rest.
It is as though
the woods have become a cemetery
voices tender
in regret
at not having noticed each loss
sooner.
What the snow shows

“Voices tender”—love to think of the trees with this trait and of course can see the scene quite clearly through your words. Great sounds esp in the first stanza.

Trees are so deep. I love wondering what they would say if they could. Thank you so much for the careful reading. 💕
