Days shuttle past,
lined leaves building
to something not yet seen.

I pray that a leaf will break open,
unfurl its forever vacant essence,
bless me with unbounded paths.
I pray that leaves will crunch
under my feet, cushion my endless striving,
bless me with untrodden paths.
I pray that a leaf will read to me
its words, most cherished, under strain,
bless me with uneasy paths.
I pray that each leaf falling
finds ears to hear its longing tones,
bless us with unsettled paths.

Just exquisite. I love trees and often think how I wish I could notice each and every leaf…like people, so many go unnoticed.
Thank you! I am so glad you liked this one.
First, I love “unbounded paths” and the leaves reading…but especially the repetition and the blessings asked for. It is the season for being unsettled…
Of course, you get it. Thank you!
Just exquisite! The entire flow is superb!
